Tidy up.

Take down the cobwebs and sweep up the place. Wash the floor and let it sparkle.
Remember, you have to make sure the place is spic-and-span .
Let no traces of anyone who set foot there remain.
Dust the corners, that’s where those memories hide.
No! Don’t push them under the carpet.
Throw them out if you must, but we all know too well that those buggers silently walk in…
From the slit under the door and through the crack in the window sill.
Close it all.
Make the place shine, make it bright and cheery.
Then lock it up and throw away the key.
And hope, just silently hope,  that nobody ever finds the key to the lock on your heart.
